America Recycles Day at SandBlast
This fun family event draws attention to the natural beauty of our beaches. Held on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico on Anna Maria Island, amateur teams in school and adult divisions compete in a sand sculpture competition and raise funds to support Keep Manatee Beautiful’s programs. Learn the “Tips, Tricks and Techniques” of sand sculpture at free clinics taught by master sculptors Team Sandtastic at sunset on Thursday and Friday, while the competition is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

“The Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce values Cultural Connection’s contribution towards building a strong community via the arts. Their efforts give our area greater visibility as not only an amazing destination for visitors, but adds to a way of life we all enjoy. The artsHOP event in November kicks off this focus with a season of island arts and culture - shedding colorful light on our beautiful surroundings by inviting people to stroll through our galleries and businesses. It is a wonderful weekend of art, music, food and fun. Thank you Cultural Connections for enhancing the beauty of our area and making it enjoyable for all to see.”

Deb Wing, President
